Every passionate fan of athletics, get ready! You don’t have to wait desperately for three long years for the Olympic Games in London to start. One of the most important sporting events is coming soon to Berlin: the World Championships in Athletics 2009.

Between the 15th and 23rd of August Germany’s capital will be the host for the maximum international competition in athletics to be held in the breath-taking Olympic stadium. The 12th World Championships in Athletics 2009 are organized by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). During those exciting summer days the world seems to be in an exceptional situation, whether the millions of spectators in many countries following the competitions on TV, or the lucky visitors who can enjoy this spectacular event live in the Olympic stadium.

More than 2,500 of the best athletes from over 200 different countries will compete in 47 exciting disciplines for the beloved medals. So you will have the possibility of enjoying spectacular competitions in the various disciplines, like sprints, middle distance and long distance events, the breath-taking hurdles, long jump, high jump, discus and javelin, etc. You will be part of all these competitions in a unique atmosphere full of emotion.
